The first thing to mention about 2023’s Lords of the Fallen is that, despite recycling the same name, it has very little in common with the 2014 game – aside from the fact that it takes place in the same world, set 1000 years later. And by its end, I came away more excited about Lords of the Fallen than I have for a lot of other recent takes on the FromSoft formula. I recently got to experience how this system works in practice during a two-hour long hands-on preview event.
